The Genealogical Society of Kendall County was founded in Boerne, Texas, in 1981. Its objectives are to promote the study of family research, to collect and preserve biographical data and records of the people of the communmity and their ancestors, to build and maintain a genealogical library and to offer programs of genealogical interest to its members and the general public.
The Society publishes a Journal, Keys to the Past, and is currently working with the Boerne Cemetery Foundation on a Tombstone Photo Project.
On September 4, 2012, the Society moved to a new home at 114 E. Blano Rd. in Boerne, which is across the street from the Old Courthouse. It houses their library which is open six days a week. Check their website for hours and information about their collection.
